A community-driven initiative helping AFP Golden Gate members connect, share experiences, and find their people in fundraising.

About Constellations

AFP Golden Gate is the largest chapter in California, and with more than 400 members, it’s easy to feel small or disconnected. That’s why we created our Constellations!

Constellations are affinity groups for local fundraisers and consultants to find community, connection, and shared support. Many of our Constellations have been active for several years and continue to be some of our most popular and well-attended gatherings. We’re always interested in forming new Constellations based on members’ interests and when volunteers step forward to host.

Constellations can:

  • Be started by any AFP Golden Gate member
  • Be centered around any relevant affinity
  • Take many forms – discussion groups, networking, support spaces, and more

Each Constellation will:

  • Run for one calendar year, with the option to renew
  • Set their own meeting format and frequency
  • Follow public health guidelines
  • Be free to join
  • Be open to all fundraisers and consultants, AFP members or not
  • Meet in accessible locations or formats

*Note: The Emerging Professionals Constellation is for folks with less than seven years of fundraising experience. We invite young professionals and professionals new to the field who want to join a community to ask questions, share ideas, and form a network. This space will primarily live on Slack, but we also plan to have a virtual or in-person meeting every quarter to put names to faces!
