Key Responsibilities:

  1. Database Management:
  • Maintain and oversee the organization’s donor database (an overlay of Salesforce), ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Develop and implement data entry protocols, data hygiene, practices, and quality control procedures.
  • Conduct regular audits of the database to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
  • Serve as lead staff member in database conversion.
  1. Campaign Support:
    • Create and manage campaign-specific records, tracking donations, pledges, and donor interactions.
    • Generate reports and analytics to support campaign planning, donor cultivation, and stewardship efforts.
    • Provide data analysis and insights to inform campaign strategies and decision making.
  2. Donor Relations:
    • Support donor segmentation, targeting, and personalization efforts by providing accurate and relevant data.
    • Assist in the preparation of donor acknowledgement letters, receipts, and other correspondence.
    • Ensure donor information is kept confidential and secure, in compliance with privacy laws and organizational policies.
  3. Reporting and Analytics:
    • Develop and generate regular and ad hoc reports on campaign progress, fundraising metrics, and donor trends.
    • Analyze data to identify patterns, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
    • Present findings and recommendations to the executive director, board of directors, and capital campaign committee.
  4. Training and Support:
    • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for database-related issues.
    • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in database management and fundraising technology.
  5. Technology Integration:
    • Implement and manage software upgrades, enhancements, and new functionalities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, data management, nonprofit management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in database management, preferably in a nonprofit or fundraising environment.
  • Proficiency in donor management software (e.g. Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High degree of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with fundraising principles and practices, especially capital campaigns, is preferred.
