Mentor Program Kickoff! Connections and Shared Learning

We kicked off our first Mentor Program gathering on March 24 with an evening focused on connection and shared learning!

Hosted at the administrative office of the St. Vincent de Paul Society in San Francisco, our event brought together mentors and mentees for a warm and engaging gathering. A special thank you to the St. Vincent de Paul Society for generously hosting us and providing beverages.

The evening began with time to network and connect, followed by breakout discussions where mentors and mentees met separately to reflect on their experiences so far. Mentors explored what it means to support and guide others in the program, sharing advice and perspectives with one another. Mentees discussed how the program is going, how to get the most out of the experience, and what support would be most valuable moving forward.

We then came back together as a full group to share takeaways, feedback, and ideas for future gatherings.

In total, 13 participants joined us – 6 mentors and 7 mentees – representing part of our broader Mentor Program community of 17 mentor/mentee pairs.

This gathering was a great reminder of the strength of our community and the value of creating space for honest conversation, collective learning, and meaningful connection.
