The Associate Director, Leadership Gifts works in tandem with the Executive Director of Leadership Gifts to oversees and supervises all aspects of donors giving $5,000 to $9,999. This includes donor strategy, planning renewal and special campaigns, data analysis and donor stewardship. Working in collaboration with the Portfolio Management team ($10,000 and above), this position also coordinates the writing of major donor correspondence, including solicitation and renewal letters. Attention to detail, strong project management skills, and a desire to create and maintain orderly systems are key qualities for this position.

Salary Information: $105,247 - $131,559

Essential Functions:
Under the direction of and with the approval of the Executive Director, Leadership Giving, the Associate Director identifies, qualifies, cultivates and solicits major donor prospects in assigned portfolio of up to 300 individuals, alone and in consultation with other staff when necessary and appropriate. For assigned prospects: prioritizes prospects; researches their interests and capacity; and identifies individualized strategy for cultivation, solicitation, stewardship and follow-up. Specifically: develops written strategies when relevant; coordinates nature of contacts that assigned prospects receive; facilitates relationships when relevant; coordinates the nature of contacts that assigned prospects receive; reviews prospect strategies regularly for refinement and interprets KQED’s annual and project needs for donors and prospects (60%)
Manage the writing of major donor written and digital solicitation communications. Work closely with Executive Director, Leadership gifts and Associate Director of Development Operation and Stewardship on stewardship strategies and communication materials such as annual major donor newsletter, annual report and quarter communication pieces. (15%)
Analyze giving level trends and retention rates to maximize the success of renewal and upgrade strategies as well as work closely with Mid-Level Giving counterpoint to develop, implement and test strategies to grow and strengthen donor pipeline. Work with the Senior Director of Leadership Gifts in the development of annual budget. (10%)
In conjunction with the VP of Development and Executive Director, directs and oversees the activities of the Emeritus Board as well as assist with the management of Development related Board of Director committees meetings. (5%)

Other Job Functions: During times of heavy gift volume (e.g. end of year, end of fiscal year), may be called upon to assist with gift processing duties such as photocopying financial backup paperwork, data entry, and drafting acknowledgement letters.
