Non-Exempt, full-time, 40 hours per week

Compensation Range: $26 - $28/hr DOE

Location: San Rafael and remote as assigned

The Development Associate supports WildCare’s Development Department by coordinating and executing a variety of activities that advance WildCare’s fundraising goals. This includes administrative duties, assisting with donor stewardship, prospect research, event support, providing excellent customer service both internally and externally, and coordinating projects with other teams. Reporting to the Development Manager, the Development Associate is an integral part of WildCare’s Development Department. This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain nonprofit development and capital campaign experience within a supportive and high performing team.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

  •  Assist the Development Manager with timely gift acknowledgements, stewardship andexpressions of gratitude to donors
  • Assist in report development as assigned, including research, data collection, and gathering supporting materials
  • Assist with Development events, including the curation and implementation of stewardship lists
  • Coordinate with the Development Manager and Director of Development to provide support for specific projects and initiatives
  • Schedule meetings with donors, staff and committees, and take minutes as needed
  • Maintain and update assigned development project documents for both WildCare operations and the capital campaign
  • Coordinate with the Development Manager and Donor Services Manager on data hygiene projects and maintenance, ensuring donor records are complete and accurate
  • Produce reports for tracking, strategic planning and project management purposes
  • Assist with maintaining donor records in NPSP and in digital files to reflect ongoing research, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities for annual fund and capital campaign donors
  • Assist with in-house mail campaigns
  • Manage Development Social Media Program, including content creation and stewardship
  • Research new corporations and foundations to identify applicable grant opportunities
  • Assist the Executive Director as needed
  • Other duties, as assigned 

 

SKILLS/ABILITIES  

  • Donor relations or customer service experience
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting
  • Strong professional writing and proofreading skills
  • Workload prioritization and time management
  • Excellent attention to detail 
  • Superlative written and verbal communication skills 
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, MS Office and Excel
  • Knowledge of Salesforce or another CRM database preferred
  • Graphic design skills a plus
  • Live in or near Marin County
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Strong personal commitment to WildCare’s mission required
