The Opportunity
Equal Rights Advocates is seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented Individual Giving Manager to join our growing and dynamic Development team. The Manager plays an important role by supporting ERA’s annual fundraising strategy and ensuring goals for individual giving are met through the creation and rollout of a comprehensive individual donor program that increases overall organizational revenue from individual donors through direct outreach (from your solicitation portfolio), data-driven strategies, and masterful mining of our CRM database (Salesforce). This role will also collaborate closely with the Executive Director and Senior Development staff and across departments on a variety of projects engaging individual donors, including ERA’s annual gala and other events. This is an exciting opportunity for an emerging fundraising development leader to gain experience in all aspects of individual fund development at a leading gender justice non-profit. This is a hybrid role, with the Manager expected to work out of the San Francisco office at least two days per week.

Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in the execution of the annual fundraising plan in collaboration with Senior Development staff and the Executive Director.
- Increase annual fund revenue through execution of direct mail and email campaigns, including list segmentation and messaging/content development. Work closely with the Communications team to create cohesive online and social media campaigns.
- Retain and upgrade current donors through a well-defined moves management process. Draft written materials for outreach, donor proposals and other correspondence. Implement a sustainer strategy, donor circles, and other plans for short and long-term donor engagement.
- Ensure the highest quality donor stewardship. Create and implement stewardship strategies. Participate in meetings with individual donors and assist with timely follow-ups as needed.
- Manage individual giving solicitation plans for Executive staff and external ambassadors, including management of Board/volunteer fundraising committees.
- Increase revenue through individual donor prospect research, qualification and solicitation from assigned portfolio of donors. Ensure that active and effective cultivation strategies are in place for all assigned prospects including a system for contact reports, next steps, etc. Set meetings with relevant staff, prepare briefings and background information ahead of meetings.
- Manage individual donor commitments to Equal Rights Advocates’ Annual Gala – this year celebrating ERA’s 50th Anniversary in spring 2024.
- Manage and maintain individual donor pledges – including preparing and appropriately filing signed pledge agreements, invoices, and tracking multi-year gifts to ensure timely annual payments.
- Manage planned giving program. Including development of successful outreach strategies, donor stewardship, and commitment tracking.
- Manage accounts receivable for individual donors and ensure payment on all pledges.
- Support overall CRM database strategy, including the management and creation of strategies for system optimization, such as: donor experience/integration with CRM platform, moves management tools in Salesforce, triggered donor communications, communications and marketing integrations, etc. Closely track individual giving revenue and donor contact information in database, ensuring accurate data entry. Generate Salesforce giving and contact reports as required, use data to identify opportunities for donor growth.
Qualifications:
- At least five years of experience in fundraising required, including record of success in expanding individual donor bases through cultivation and stewardship, demonstrating a solid track record with developing and maintaining relationships with individual donors.
- Exceptional administrative and organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and multi-task required.
- Experience with CRMs and/or donor data management required; familiarity with nonprofit donor tracking systems, best practices, and reporting in Salesforce preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well independently and collaboratively, including in remote environments required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including grammar, spelling and editing required.
- Must be comfortable with prioritization in a fast-paced environment with close attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience managing board and other volunteer ambassadors preferred.
- Must be comfortable thriving in a techy, paper-less environment and adept at navigating cloud-based systems and applications.

- A valid authorization to work in the United States. ERA is unable to sponsor work visas.
- Must be able to commute to the office at least twice a week.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000.

ERA also offers a generous 403b match with 100% vesting from the first day of participation. ERA has a flexible, hybrid work environment with a requirement of only 2 days per week in the San Francisco office.
