Responsibilities

Donor Relations

      Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Development, manage all aspects of CAAM’s individual giving programs, including fundraising, communications, appeals, and events

      Retain a portfolio of current donors, implement acquisition strategies for donor and program growth, and develop reengagement strategies for lapsed supporters

      Research, identify and cultivate new donor prospects, initiate contact, and maintain ongoing relations with current donors and prospects via direct communications over email, phone, and one-on-one and group meetings (virtually and in person); at CAAM fundraising events and programs; and external arts and community events

      Work with Development staff to implement and maintain an effective moves management strategy; move existing and potential donors toward solicitation and closure

      Establish and maintain a donor stewardship program to ensure that new donors are stewarded accordingly and that existing donors have opportunities to increase their level of support on an annual basis

      Revamp and continually evaluate donor types and levels, thank yous and acknowledgments; and develop ways to retain and increase contributions

      Make recommendations for the implementation of new giving circles to support programs and other organizational activities; help manage and coordinate implementation of giving circle program(s)

      Work with Director of Development, Executive Director, Board Members, and programs staff to provide ongoing support of their cultivation and stewardship efforts of donors and prospects 

      Plan, organize, and provide support for fundraising and cultivation events. Work with appropriate CAAM staff and events contractors on planning and execution of events.

      Work with Development Associate/Assistant to process all donor relations activities, ensuring accuracy, prompt communications, and proper donor recognition, and work with festival ticketing staff to ensure quality customer service and streamlined donor transactions

      Work with the Development Associate/Assistant to maintain accurate donor records in DonorPerfect, CAAM’s donor relationship management database

      Track, analyze, and report on the progress of individual giving programs on a monthly basis

      Professionally represent and serve as an effective ambassador of CAAM at appropriate external arts, civic, community, and fundraising and social events

      Maximize CAAM’s donor programs by soliciting user feedback, and implementing and analyzing donor surveys

      Research national giving trends and analyze for strategies to build individual donor base

      Develop specific local, regional, and national donor outreach strategies, needs, and benefits

      Contribute to the Development department’s annual operating plan and meet or exceed annual fundraising goals

      Supervise development interns and volunteers in partnership with the Development team

      Other Development-related duties as assigned

 

Communications/Partnerships

      Work with Development and marketing and communications team to create compelling online and direct mail campaigns and solicitations for annual giving and special appeals

      Organize and deploy select content for CAAM In-Focus, an e-newsletter for CAAM’s closest supporters and prospects

      Develop new and retain existing community partnerships to enhance the donor experience, leverage CAAM’s profile and affiliations, and strengthen retention

      In partnership with marketing team members, implement strategies for building and utilizing email contact lists

      Work with graphic design consultants and printers to produce materials for fundraising campaigns and events

 

Qualifications

      Proven track record and experience with donor cultivation and fundraising.

      Strong project management, organizational skills, and resourcefulness in reaching goals.

      Excellent writing, presentation, and analytic skills.

      Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with donors, community partners, board members, volunteers, staff, and the general public.

      Ability to exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality of information.

      Ability to cultivate meaningful relationships with donors and negotiate reciprocal programs with partner organizations.

      Capacity to take initiative and work collaboratively and effectively within the organization as well as with external entities.

      Efficiency working on both PC and Mac OS platform, database software, MS Office and project management softwares, and web applications (e.g. e-marketing, and e-surveys). 

      Experience with DonorPerfect and Filemaker Pro databases preferred.

      Experience with email marketing programs.
