Request for Proposal (RFP) Announcement
Public Advocates is excited to announce our request for a proposal for a Development Consultant.
For over 50 years, Public Advocates has been at the forefront of social justice movements in California as a bold and highly regarded civil rights law firm and advocacy organization that challenges the systemic causes of poverty and racial discrimination.
Summary of Service
The Consultant will work closely with the CEO, Development team and board members, focusing on:
- Voices of Conscience Fund Campaign – Soliciting annual contributions from law firms and corporations.
- Donor Stewardship – Converting new donors from Public Advocates’ recent 50th-anniversary gala into ongoing donors.
- End of Year Campaign – Early planning and implementation for Public Advocates’ annual campaign.
Time Commitment & Start Date
20-30 hours per week for four months. Start date: ASAP.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible fundraising experience, with a track record of significantly upgrading the amounts given by core donors
- Demonstrated effective process and project management skills – keeping multiple objectives and tasks on track.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience working with a donor database – understanding how best to utilize and leverage a donor relationship management system.
- “Tech competent” – experienced with email marketing, social media, and internet applications.
